On 23 October 2026, in association with IQAC, an awareness program on HIV/AIDS and the eradication of drug addiction was organized by the National Service Scheme units and the Red Ribbon Club.

As the resource person, Mr. Dinesh Suvarna, ICTC Counselor at the Community Health Centre, Nitte, highlighted the necessity of maintaining a healthy and disciplined lifestyle. He pointed out that post-pandemic lifestyle changes, lack of awareness, and excessive digital distractions often lead youth into misguided choices, emphasizing that health complications stemming from unsafe behaviors are difficult to cure. Warning against the alarming rise of substance abuse among students, he urged the audience to avoid excessive mobile phone usage and adopt wholesome dietary habits early in life to prevent lifestyle-related ailments such as diabetes, hypertension, and hormonal imbalances.

Presiding over the program, Principal Dr. Manjunatha A. Kotian stated that an undisciplined lifestyle invites severe health and mental risks, adding that students falling prey to addictions risk losing their mental stability. He encouraged students to rely on self-effort, moral values and sound judgment, reminding them that an individual’s character is their most enduring asset in society. NSS Officer Sri Shankar Kudva was present on the dais.
